Sindh Rangers personnel arrested seven suspects belonging to the notorious “Topi Gang” during an intelligence-based operation in Korangi.

The suspects were identified as Zafar, Sajan, Waqar, Daniyal, Shahzaib, Shahid, and Ismail. According to the Rangers spokesperson, weapons and stolen items, including an unlicensed pistol with ammunition, two toy guns, eight mobile phones, and cash were recovered from their possession.

According to officials, the suspects have been involved in robbery, street crime, motorcycle theft and snatching and pick-pocketing incidents since 2018. They are part of an organised gang allegedly involved in over 900 criminal activities across Sindh.

The gang operated not only in Karachi but also in the interior of Sindh, including Sukkur, Kandhkot, and Rohri, targeting passengers on major roads in areas such as Quaidabad, Bhains Colony, Manzil Pump, and Bilal Colony. They were also involved in multiple pick-pocketing incidents on public buses.

The Rangers spokesperson added that one of the suspects, Zafar, was clearly seen in CCTV footage during a robbery incident. Several FIRs have already been registered against these individuals at different police stations. The suspects have been handed over to police along with recovered weapons and stolen items for further legal proceedings, while raids are underway to apprehend their remaining accomplices. Rangers have urged citizens to report criminal activities through the nearest Rangers check post, helpline 1101, or WhatsApp number, assuring confidentiality of informants.
