LAHORE:The complaints of lack of cooperation raised by ruling party MPAs from officers continued as a senior figure of PMLN has submitted a privilege motion against Assistant Commissioner Shahkot, district Nankana for being 'harsh' and demanded legal action against her.

Chief Whip of PMLN in Punjab Assembly and MPA Rana M Arshad in his privilege motion submitted in the PA Secretariat stated that Assistant Commissioner Nankana had conveyed that she doesn't take anyone's suggestions and stated 'whatever is my will, that will happen, I have orders from above'.

In the privilege motion, Rana Arshad said that regarding Punjab govt's ‘Ramazan Nigehban Card’ programme, the Shahkot AC contacted him via WhatsApp to request time regarding the distribution of cards.

He said he had scheduled a meeting for Saturday; however, when he arrived at the designated time, he was informed that the said AC was on leave. ‘I was not given any prior notification regarding this, nor was I contacted afterward’.

Subsequently, Rana said he had attempted to contact her multiple times to discuss other public issues of constituency, but she did not respond to his calls. On one occasion, when the call was finally connected, her tone during the conversation was extremely harsh and inappropriate.

The conduct of Shahkot's AC is a violation of the Constitution of Pakistan, he submitted. Such behaviour towards an elected MPA is not only an insult but also a breach of the privilege of this August House. ‘It is my request that strict legal action be taken against her,’ said Rana Arshad.
