Authorities have identified the fourth terrorist killed in the February 17, 2026 encounter between the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) militants in Shah Latif Town as Sohail Baloch alias Gark Baloch.

According to CTD DIG Ghulam Azfar Mahesar, the slain militant was a commander of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and was involved in multiple terrorist activities in Balochistan. Sohail Baloch reportedly served as the Fateh Squad area commander in the Bolan region and maintained direct links with key BLA commanders, including Rehman Gul, Dr Makho and Mullah Amin.

Investigators revealed that Sohail Baloch initially joined the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) in 2022 before switching allegiance to the BLA, where he later rose to a command position and remained actively involved in militant operations.

DIG Mahesar claimed that the terrorist was responsible for the killing of more than 50 security personnel and civilians in various attacks. He was also allegedly involved in the March 12, 2024 killing of Panjgur Deputy Commissioner Zakir Baloch at Khad Kocha. Officials further stated that he played a role in orchestrating the March 11, 2025 attack on the Jaffar Express train, sending five suicide attackers to carry out the assault.
