LAHORE : The Punjab government has decided to increase fines for traffic violations on Lahore Ring Road.

According to sources, it has been proposed to increase the fine for over-speeding from Rs500 to Rs5,000. A summary seeking approval has been sent to the CM Punjab.

Authorities have also approved the establishment of a modern command and control centre under the Ring Road Authority to improve traffic monitoring and security. The project, estimated to cost Rs871 million, will be completed within four months and will use AI-equipped cameras to monitor traffic violations.
