Two robbery suspects killed in ‘encounter’

LAHORE : Two suspects were killed in an alleged police encounter involving the CCD Chuhng unit.

According to CCD sources, officials were taking two suspects for identification when their accomplices opened fire on the police in an attempt to free them.

The two suspects were reportedly killed in the firing, while the attackers managed to escape.

Police said the deceased were identified as Humayun and Aslam and were allegedly involved in robbery, theft and kidnapping for ransom cases.

Police official injured by kite string

A police official was injured by a kite string in the North Cantonment area.

According to police, the official Wahab was on his way to duty when the string injured his neck and hand.

A case of attempted murder has been registered and efforts are underway to identify those involved in kite flying.

PO arrested in murder case

Shahdara Police arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a murder case.

According to the spokesperson, the suspect Irshad had allegedly beaten a citizen to death with sticks along with his accomplices after a minor dispute two years ago.

He had been absconding and was wanted by Sheikhupura Police in the murder case.
