LAHORE/RAHIM YAR KHAN: Nauman Qaiser, the main suspect in the murder of Muaz, son of Sohrab Cycles owner Alhaj Muhammad Amjad Qazi, died after an alleged police encounter in Kot Sabzal, located in the tri-border area of Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan, on Thursday. The development was confirmed by Rahim Yar Khan District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Samo.
According to DPO Irfan Samo, the unknown suspect was traced while travelling from the tri-border region. He was injured during an exchange of fire with police responding to a bike-snatching call made to the police emergency helpline 15. Police said the suspect allegedly attempted to escape during the encounter and later died of his injuries.
Police sources said the suspect had allegedly hired contract killers to murder his brother-in-law Muaz following a family dispute while he was living in Spain. The shooters allegedly carried out the killing and later fled to Dubai.
Police later arrested both the shooters, and a court sentenced them to life imprisonment.
