PESHAWAR: A faulty lift at the main building of the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) has become a source of concern for employees and people visiting the facility, while the relevant authorities have yet to address repeated complaints by stakeholders.
According to employees, the lift has undergone maintenance and repair work on numerous occasions.However, after each repair, it remains operational for only two or three days before breaking down again, highlighting persistent technical issues and raising questions about the effectiveness of the maintenance efforts.
The frequent malfunction has caused significant inconvenience and posed safety risks for both employees and visitors.On several occasions, staff members and members of the public have reportedly become trapped inside the lift, making it a serious safety concern.
The building houses several important government offices, including the PDA Electrical Department, Building Department, Assistant Commissioner’s Office, and offices of various Planning and Development Department projects. A large number of employees, officials and citizens visit these offices daily.
