LAHORE: The National Open Polo Championship Finals officially commenced today at Jinnah Polo Fields, Lahore, with the prestigious 5th President of Pakistan Polo Cup 2026 setting the stage for the country’s premier high-goal polo event of the season. Sponsored by Sarsabz, this 14-goal handicap tournament has drawn considerable attention as the pinnacle of Pakistan’s polo calendar.
Club Secretary Major Adil Sultan Rao (Retd) expressed optimism about the competition, extending gratitude to Mian Abbas Mukhtar of Sarsabz for his continued support in promoting polo nationwide. The tournament features three powerhouse teams, each reinforced by international talent.
FG Polo will be represented by Amin Rehan Fazal, Marcos Rivarola, Mikael Sami, and Raul Laplacette. Diamond Paints/Master Paints will field Mir Huzaifa Ahmed, Taimur Nadeem, Facu Retamar, and Amirreza Behboudi. BN Polo enters the championship with Babar Naseem, Ibrahim Khalil, Tito Ruiz Guinazu, and Lolo Abbiati.
Adding to the international flair, the matches will be officiated by Argentine umpire Tiquitti, while renowned Irish commentator Greg Keating will provide live play-by-play coverage, ensuring world-class standards both on and off the field.
