Islamabad : The Islamabad Police officially observed International Women’s Day on Sunday by paying tribute to the dedicated service and significant contributions of its female officers toward public safety and law enforcement in the federal capital.
In a special message released to mark the occasion, Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi characterised the women serving within the force as a source of pride and a vital asset to the department.
He noted that female officers are now integrated across various specialised units, working seamlessly alongside their male counterparts to maintain law and order and combat crime throughout the city.
Highlighting the department’s commitment to gender-sensitive policing, Rizvi emphasized that the Islamabad Police have implemented robust measures to ensure the protection of female citizens.
He specifically pointed to the full operationalization of Women Police Stations and Digital Police Stations, which are designed to provide immediate, specialized assistance and a secure environment for women seeking legal recourse.
The IG underscored that creating a safe and confident atmosphere for women remains a top organizational priority.
He lauded the professional capabilities demonstrated by female personnel, noting that their performance continues to meet the highest standards of policing.
Beyond the operational force, the IG extended a tribute to the resilience of the families of fallen officers.
He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the mothers, sisters, and daughters of the department’s martyrs, recognizing their strength as a cornerstone of the force’s heritage.
Concluding his remarks, Rizvi stated that the provision of equal opportunities is a fundamental requirement for social progress.
