PARACHINAR: Cross-border attacks from Afghanistan’s Paktia and Khost provinces on Pakistani border areas continued on Saturday, leaving one youth dead and two others injured, police sources said.

They said that armed attackers from across the border targeted civilian areas, prompting a strong retaliatory response from Pakistani security forces.

Police officials said that in the border localities of Pewar and Burki, shelling from the Afghan side resulted in the death of a young man identified as Aqib Turi, while two others sustained injuries.

They added the ongoing attacks have forced residents of several border villages to flee their homes and move to safer areas.
