KHAR: Terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij attacked the Badan police post, targeting an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) with a sniper rifle while he was on duty.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Daulat Khan sustained serious injuries and later embraced martyrdom after succumbing to his wounds.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Regional Police Officer (RPO), Malakand Division, Syed Fida Hassan Shah reached Bajaur.
He attended the funeral prayers of the martyred cop and met with the bereaved family to express heartfelt condolences and sympathy.
The funeral prayer of Shaheed ASI Daulat Khan was offered at Police Lines Bajaur.
RPO Malakand, Muhammad Waqas Ghuman, Commandant of Bajaur Scouts, Shahid Khan, Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, Muhammad Khalid, District Police Officer Bajaur, as well as local elders and members of civil society attended the funeral.
Later, the body of the martyred officer was sent under the escort of a special police squad to his native area of Gakhi Mamond for burial state honors.
On the occasion, the RPO Malakand stated that the blood of police martyrs would not go in vain. He said that terrorist elements would be brought to justice at all costs and that the sacrifices of martyrs would be avenged.
He added that police personnel laid down their lives for the safety of the country, and that the nation would never forget these brave heroes.
