PESHAWAR: A delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday visited the Iranian Consulate General in Peshawar to condole the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and express solidarity with the people of Iran in the wake of the US and Israeli attacks over the Islamic Republic.

Led by JI KP (Centre) President Abdul Wasi, the delegation met Iranian Consul General Ali Banafsheh Khah and expressed sympathies on the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the US-Israeli attacks.

Speaking on the occasion, members of the delegation paid rich tribute to the late Iranian leader for his religious, national and international services. They offered prayers for the elevation of his ranks and lauded his contributions to the Muslim world.

The delegation included former Member of the National Assembly and provincial General Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Sabir Hussain Awan, deputy provincial chiefs Maulana Dr Hidayatullah, Syed Sohaibuddin Kakakhel and Muhammad Aslam, and President of Alkhidmat Foundation KP Khalid Waqas.
