Man injured in firing over parking issue; suspect held

LAHORE:A man was seriously injured in firing during a dispute over rickshaw parking in the Harbanspura area. Police shifted the injured to hospital and arrested one suspect, while another is being searched.

Suspect of wife’s murder held

Investigation Police arrested a suspect from Sialkot for allegedly shooting his wife in Shahdara. Acting on the directions of DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza, Shahdara Investigation Police apprehended the suspect. Police said the accused fled after injuring his wife, who later died in hospital. The suspect had gone into hiding in Sialkot after the incident.

Two women among three thieves arrested

Bagbanpura Police arrested two women among three thieves allegedly involved in 30 theft cases.According to the spokesperson, the gang leader, a woman identified as Bisma, along with Hafsa and Waqar, was taken into custody. Cash, jewellery and mobile phones were recovered. Police stated that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to committing thefts in various areas.

Robbers on looting spree

Several robbery and theft incidents were reported in different areas of the city. In Factory Area, Rs360,000 and a mobile phone was snatched from a citizen. In Faisal Town, robbers took away cash and jewellery worth Rs300,000 from a woman.

Cash and mobile phones were also snatched in Gulshan Ravi, Shahdara, Shad Bagh and Lower Mall. Cars were stolen from Mughalpura and Shadman, while motorcycles were stolen from Samanabad, Lari Adda, and Chuhng.

348 arrested in combing operations

Lahore Police arrested 65 proclaimed offenders among 348 suspects during combing operations against criminal elements in the provincial capital. According to the spokesperson, 1,257 search and combing operations have been conducted so far this year, during which over 60,000 houses and more than 118,000 individuals were checked.

During these operations, 283 suspicious individuals were detained and 65 proclaimed offenders were arrested.CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana directed that combing operations be made more effective to ensure peaceful observance of the holy month and Youm-e-Ali. He also ordered rooftop security monitoring at city entry and exit points and instructed officers to continue efforts against criminals and terrorists to safeguard citizens’ lives and property.
