CHARSADDA: The Academic Council of Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, (BKUC) on Tuesday approved the establishment of a Law Department at the high seat of leaning.
The meeting, chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khan Alam, focused on academic and administrative matters besides detailed deliberations on ensuring implementation of various policies issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The participants stressed the need for aligning the curriculum with HEC guidelines, further improving the semester system, and enhancing transparency in the examination process. A comprehensive discussion was also held regarding the launch of the Law Department.
Addressing the meeting, VC Dr Khan Alam said that in view of the growing demand for legal education and regional needs, the university was planning to introduce a modern law programme in line with contemporary requirements.
He directed the relevant authorities to complete all necessary legal and administrative formalities at the earliest so that students can be provided with quality legal education in the near future.
The VC reiterated that the provision of quality education and promotion of research remained the university’s top priorities. He instructed that HEC policies must be implemented in letter and spirit to ensure academic standards were aligned with national benchmarks.
