PESHAWAR: The Accountability Court (AC) on Tuesday extended the physical remand of an accused arrested in connection with the Upper Kohistan financial scandal.
The accused, Jibran Malik, was produced once again before AC Judge Muhammad Hamid Mughal. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor Habibullah Baig and the investigation officer were also present during the hearing.
The court was informed that the accused was allegedly involved in the Upper Kohistan scandal. It was said that he hailed from Qazikot in Mansehra, and transactions amounting to Rs49.125 million were reportedly made through his bank account.
The prosecution submitted that further custodial interrogation was required to complete the investigation, upon which the court approved an extension in the physical remand of the accused.
