LAHORE: Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has launched an intensified cleanliness drive for the second ashra of Ramazan to ensure top-quality sanitation across the city.

Special cleaning teams have been deployed at Taraweeh prayer sites, major mosques, key routes, and 23 Ramazan bazaars established by the district administration. SPAL teams are tasked with cleaning and washing over 1,500 mosques, including daily washing of 160 mosques.

To manage waste efficiently, additional bins have been installed in bazaars, and 156 workers in two shifts are overseeing sanitation at model and facilitation markets. Cleaning operations have also been extended to 250 graveyards across the city.

SPAL’s 21 washer rickshaws and 210 staff members are ensuring cleanliness at 21 major Iftar dastarkhwans, while personnel have been assigned to Ramazan Nigehban bazaars to assist citizens. SPAL DG Babar Sahib Din directed officials to promptly resolve complaints, which can be registered via SPAL’s helpline 1139 or social media platforms.
