HYDERABAD: A protest rally was organised in Hyderabad by the Shia Ulema Council against the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and in condemnation of attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel.

The rally started from Qadam Gah Maula Ali where a large number of people gathered and marched while chanting slogans against the US and Israel.

The protest was attended by prominent religious figures including Maulana Syed Haider Abbas Zaidi, Maulana Zulfiqar Kazmi, Maulana Jibran and Muhammad Ahmed Jafri of the Imamia Trust, along with a large number of supporters.

Addressing the participants, the speakers said that a wave of grief and mourning had spread across the country over the martyrdom of Khamenei and members of his family.

They warned that the US and Israel should remember that Iran would never be intimidated by such actions. Meanwhile, in Mirpurkhas, hundreds of activists belonging to the Asgharia Organization, Jafaria Alliance, Shia Ulema Council, Paigham-e-Wilayat Pakistan and Shian-e-Haider Qarar Mirpurkhas held a protest march that started from the shrine and Imambargah Makhan Shah.

The rally condemned what the organisers described as the worst act of terrorism by the US and Israel, allegedly resulting in the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader. Speaking on the occasion, the Asgharia Organization Pakistan central youth leader Saqlain Lashari said Khamenei was a leading figure of the Muslim world, particularly for Palestine, who stood firmly against the Jewish and Christian forces. Similar demonstrations and rallies expressing solidarity with Iran were also held across Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Nawabshah divisions.
