ISLAMABAD: Former Senate chairman Raza Rabbani has said the creation of provinces on administrative boundaries is a historical wrong and will have disastrous consequences for the federation.
“It will increase political polarization and increase the sense of economic, administrative deprivation in the federation,” he said in a statement on Monday. He said that given the existing internal political fault lines, the federation would come under severe strain. It would strengthen the hands of insurgents who are working outside the constitutional framework. Therefore, he said, any talk of separation of Karachi from Sindh is historical incorrect and not achievable under the present constitutional dispensation.
