Man held for killing cousin during robbery

LAHORE:Investigation Police have arrested the suspect involved in the murder of a 32-year old woman during a robbery incident in the Shafiqabad area. The suspect turned out to be the victim’s cousin.

According to the spokesperson, DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza took notice of the incident and formed a team under SP Investigation City Farhat Abbas to arrest the accused.The arrest was made by the Investigation Incharge of Shafiqabad Police Station, Shahzaib Kamboh, along with his team. Police said the suspect had fatally stabbed 32-year old Nimra a few days ago and fled with Rs1 million in cash.

At the time of the incident, the victim was alone at home with her two-year old son, while her husband had gone to a private hospital with his mother. Police said the suspect killed the victim after she recognised him during the robbery.

Five arrested for firing; weapons recovered

The Dolphin Squad arrested five suspects involved in display of weapons and firing into the air and recovered arms from their possession.According to the Dolphin spokesperson, the arrests were made during operations in Defence, Sanda, Sabzazar, Jia Bagga and other areas. The arrested suspects include Hasnain, Bilal and Ihtisham. Police recovered four pistols, one rifle, bullets and magazines and handed the suspects over to Sabzazar, Defence C, Gulshan Ravi and Sanda police stations.

Two solar battery thieves arrested

Johar Town Police arrested two thieves involved in stealing solar batteries from different areas.According to the spokesperson, the arrested suspects —Afzal and Fazal Abbas — were involved in multiple theft incidents. Police recovered four stolen solar batteries worth millions of rupees, a cutter, and a pistol with bullets from their possession. Cases have been registered.

Meanwhile, Shad Bagh Police arrested a suspect within 24 hours for snatching a mobile phone from a woman.According to the spokesperson, the suspect, identified as Saif, was traced using modern technology and camera footage. The stolen mobile phone was recovered and the accused was handed over to Investigation Police.
