Pakistan, Bangladesh reiterate desire to deepen ties

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Dr Khalilur Rehman, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, felicitating him on his recent appointment.

Both the leaders expressed a desire to further strengthen bilateral ties, with a shared vision of peace, stability and prosperity.

They also agreed to expand cooperation across diverse sectors and in multilateral fora, building a forward-looking partnership for the peoples of Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider called on Bangladesh State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam and congratulated her on assuming office, noting that bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh are deeply rooted in common faith, shared history, cultural affinities and familial bonds, says a press release.
