Islamabad : Islamabad Model College for Girls (Post Graduate-Margalla), F-7/4, Islamabad, held a prestigious Investiture and Distribution of Merit Scholarships & Sports Award Ceremony here Wednesday.

The event was organized to formalize the appointment of the new student council and to celebrate the academic and athletic brilliance of the students.

The ceremony was graced by Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFE&PT Wajiha Qamar, who presided as the chief guest, and Asma Ahmed, Director of Sports, FDE.

Their presence served as a profound source of motivation for the students and underscored the government’s commitment to empowering young women through education and sports.

The program commenced with the solemn recitation of the Holy Quran and a soulful rendition of Naat. The entire assembly then stood in unison for the College Anthem, followed by the National Anthem, evoking a deep sense of patriotism and institutional pride.

Principal Ayesha Kayani delivered the welcome address and invited the Chief Guest to formally inaugurate the Bamboo Arena. This was followed by the Investiture Ceremony, where the newly elected members of the College Students' Council and various societies were formally inducted into their roles.

The chief guest administered the oath to the newly-elected President, Ms. Khadija Azfar, after which the former president, Ms. Rakeeza Shahzadi, handed over a lighted candle to signify the transition of responsibility.

Oaths were also taken by the vice president, general secretary, joint secretary, and class representatives from BS English, BS Mass Communication, and the first and second-year sections.

The ceremony then transitioned into the distribution of Merit Scholarships and Sports Awards, where students were honored with certificates, cups, and souvenirs for their outstanding performance in various sporting disciplines.

The chief guest then addressed the gathering, sharing wisdom and insights that ignited profound motivation among the attendees. As a token of deep gratitude and in accordance with the tradition of Margalla College, Principal Ms. Ayesha Kayani presented the college shield to the Chief Guest.

In recognition of her dedicated service, a token of gratitude was also presented to Ms. Asma Ahmed, the Sports Director. The Council Incharge, Ms. Shazia Shakeel, then presented a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the administration and the organizing committee for the successful execution of the program. To preserve the memory of the occasion, group photos were taken with the Chief Guest, Principal, and the Guest of Honour. The event concluded with a collective sense of pride and a renewed commitment to the ideals of leadership and excellence.
