ISLAMABAD: During the 24th session of the National Assembly, comprising seven sittings held between February 2 and 12 February 2026, 52 out of 332 members (16 per cent) attended all sittings, while 54 members (16 per cent) did not attend any sitting, according to the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) National Assembly Attendance – 24th Session report. Besides only two federal ministers attended all the proceedings.
According to the FAFEN report on National Assembly Attendance – 24th Session, the first sitting recorded the highest attendance, with 219 MNAs present (66 per cent of the current membership). The third sitting recorded the lowest attendance, with 110 MNAs present (33 per cent). As many as 280 MNAs (84 per cent) missed at least one sitting.
Among cabinet members from the National Assembly, two federal ministers attended all sittings, while nine ministers — six federal ministers and three ministers of state — did not attend any sitting. The prime minister did not attend any sitting, whereas the Leader of the Opposition attended all sittings.
Of the 19 federal ministers scheduled to respond during Question Hour, only six were present on the day they were required to answer questions. Of the three ministers required to make statements on Calling Attention Notices (CANs), one federal minister and one minister of state were present, while one CAN was covered by the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs instead of the relevant minister.
