No regime change

As a student of international relations, I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the escalating rhetoric of regime change from the US towards Iran and its potential to destabilise the already fragile security architecture of our region. While the situation within Iran is undeniably grave, a pivot to military coercion is risky for the entire region. For a neighbouring country like Pakistan, the prospect of a power vacuum or a kinetic conflict in Iran is a direct threat to our own security and stability. Instead of advocating for forced transitions that historically lead to prolonged chaos, the international community must prioritise diplomatic frameworks. We must recognise that the most sustainable path lies in verified diplomatic oversight and the protection of human rights rather than the catastrophic uncertainty of externally led regime change.
