While Eidul Azha is meant to bring joy and happiness, thousands of low-income families are unable to celebrate because of rising inflation and unemployment. Poor parents feel heartbroken when they cannot buy even simple Eid clothes or gifts for their children. In cities like Turbat, the situation is becoming more painful every year. Daily wage workers and labourers are badly affected by the high cost of living. Instead of happiness, Eid brings stress, disappointment and helplessness to many homes. The government must take immediate steps to control inflation and provide relief packages for deserving families. Shopkeepers should also avoid unfair price increases during religious occasions. Wealthy people and welfare organisations should also come forward to support the needy so that every family can celebrate Eid with dignity.
