RAWALPINDI: Aleema Khanum has pledged to stop issuing statements against ‘everyone’ if the PTI founder is shifted to Shifa International Hospital and the family is allowed to meet him.

The sister of the former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), announced ‘the deal’ while speaking to media here on Thursday at the Anti-Terrorism Court. She said: “I am offering them a deal. They should allow the former chairman to be treated at Shifa International in the presence of his family and they will not name anyone.” However she warned, in case of denial of treatment there will be difficulties for the government in the future. “We only want to save his eyesight. The doctors have told us that the vision does not suddenly deteriorate to such an extent and there must be other reasons for it. If they are not poisoning him, what are they afraid of? We will conduct his blood tests. What is the reason for denying access to his personal doctor and his family?”

Aleema also cited a ‘rumour’ regarding the interior minister approving founder’s bail that turned out to be wrong information and added they also lied to the founder’s personal physician about his eye. The founder, Aleema said instructed Advocate Salman Safdar to file a criminal case against Superintendent Adiala Jail Anjum Ghafoor. Talking about the hearing of appeals against Al-Qadir and Toshakhana cases, she said they could not be heard because of the absence of IHC CJ and that they were of political nature which could be disposed of in a few minutes.

Meanwhile, the Special Anti-Terrorism Court of Rawalpindi adjourned, the hearing of the case against Aleema Khanum, nominated in the Sadiqabad police station case relating to the November 26 PTI protest, until today (Friday). The hearing was adjourned due to the judge’s absence. The two last prosecution witnesses were scheduled to be cross-examined by the defence counsel. The court had earlier issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against her due to her repeated absence from hearings prompting her to turn up in the court on Thursday.
