CHARSADDA: Armed robbers on Thursday allegedly forced their entry into the house of a daily wage labourer in the Akbarabad area of City Police Station limits in Charsadda and beat him and his family members before looting them at gunpoint and fleeing with cash and valuables.
The victim, identified as Sajid, said the incident occurred at around 2am when the robbers forced their way into his home, subjected him and his wife and children to physical violence and snatched Rs90,000 kept in the house before escaping. He claimed the amount belonged to a community savings pool collected monthly from neighbourhood women.
A daily wager earning barely Rs800 to Rs1,000 per day, Sajid said he had reported the incident at the local police station, where a daily diary entry was made, but a proper had yet to be registered.He warned that if justice was not provided within five days, he would commit self-immolation outside the press club in protest.
