KARACHI: Mehran Commercial Enterprises (MCE) hosted a meeting at its Korangi Creek office with Indonesia’s Consul General Mudazakir to explore avenues for strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and enhancing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia.
During the session, Director SMEDA Mashood Khan highlighted the potential of government-supported SME clusters operating in sectors such as engineering, cutlery, hunting knives, surgical instruments, sports goods and women-led micro-enterprises. He underscored opportunities for joint growth and pointed to Sindh’s emerging microfiber project as an area with strong prospects for collaboration and investment.
The Indonesian consul general welcomed the proposals and expressed interest in promoting SME-level partnerships, noting that closer engagement between businesses in both countries could help expand bilateral trade and industrial linkages.
It was agreed that, following Eid, the Consul General would visit the Super Highway industrial area to meet local SME operators and gain firsthand insight into Pakistan’s manufacturing capabilities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the consul general presented a commemorative memento to MCE Executive Director Ghazanfar Khan in recognition of the company’s support to the Indonesian Consulate in Karachi and its role in fostering business connectivity between the two countries.
