Karachi Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad said measures taken to improve traffic are of great importance for citizens, especially during the holy month of Ramadzan when unusual congestion is witnessed in markets and on major roads.
In such situations, an organized traffic system not only saves time but also protects citizens from mental stress and difficulties. Timely planning by relevant institutions plays a key role in ensuring public convenience. He said traffic pressure increases during Ramazan, and a better traffic system is only possible through mutual cooperation between citizens and concerned institutions. Road safety awareness programmes are the need of the hour, and such activities play an important role in reducing accidents and promoting civic discipline.
He expressed these views while addressing a joint workshop of traffic police, Pakistan Red Crescent (Sindh), and the City Wardens Department held at the head office of the City Institute of Image Management (CIIM) of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.
