Establishment division directed to expedite formulation of civil servants nationality rules

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat directed the Establishment Division on Monday to expedite formulation of Civil Servants (Disclosure and Prohibition of Dual and Foreign Nationality) Rules.

In its meeting chaired by Malik Ibrar Ahmad MNA, the committee recommended Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of the Cabinet Division amounting to Rs164.578 billion for the financial year 2026-2027.

The committee also recommended to the ministries of Finance, and Planning and Development to provide required funds to the Cabinet Division to avoid revision of cost of the projects resulting in wastage of public funds.

The committee was apprised of the proposed PSDP allocation of Rs82 billion pertaining to Sustainable Development Goals achievement plan, infrastructure development of Islamabad Technopolis, rehabilitation of National Archives building, and enhancement of combat efficiency and security measures of 6-Aviation Squadron in approved category.

The committee unanimously approved the proposed PSDP, directing the concerned departments to get the projects approved from relevant forums and submit the same to Planning Division for further action.

Earlier, the Islamabad Club administration briefed the committee on the administration and functioning of the club. The committee was told that the club was providing facilities to its members in different categories who are residents of Islamabad/ Rawalpindi.

The committee was informed that due to limited slots the club reserves the right to grant or refuse application for membership without any reason. The secretary Islamabad Club informed the committee about the financial management of the club, compliance towards local laws, taxation and facility management.

The committee appreciated the club management for providing services which had a greater impact on members of the club, their families and on the community in general. The committee also asked the club management to work on bringing other clubs into its affiliate circle.

It also recommended for payment of minimum wages to the employees who were serving the club on outsourced services. While taking up compliance of its previous recommendations, the committee directed Benevolent and Group Insurance Funds to expedite collection of data for providing it to actuarial firm so that the actuarial study was completed at an early date.
