Rawalpindi : To provide maximum relief to citizens during the holy month of Ramzan, 16 Sahulat Bazaars are being established across the Rawalpindi Division.

The bazaars will be set up in Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum, where essential commodities will be available at lower prices compared to the open market.

Chairman Sahulat Bazaar Muhammad Afzal Khokhar, while speaking to APP, said the prime objective of the initiative is to reduce the impact of inflation during Ramzan and ensure the availability of quality food items at affordable rates.

He said that the bazaars will offer flour, sugar, ghee, pulses, vegetables and other essential commodities in ample quantities to prevent any shortage or artificial price hikes.

Highlighting innovative measures, Afzal Khokhar said a Sahulat Drive-Thru facility will allow citizens to shop without stepping out of their vehicles, saving time and reducing overcrowding.

Additionally, under the Sahulat on the Go program, informal pushcart vendors will be organized and provided a designated space to ensure the supply of quality goods at one location.

He added that children’s play areas, food courts and clean washrooms will also be set up at the Sahulat Bazaars to provide a comfortable and pleasant shopping environment for families.

A complaint cell will be established for the prompt redressal of grievances, and immediate action will be taken on public complaints.

The Chairman made it clear that overcharging and profiteering will not be tolerated, and strict legal action will be taken against those found charging above the notified rates.
