In a shocking early morning incident in Bismillah Town in Musharraf Colony, Baldia Town, a man, his wife, and their young son were shot dead inside their home, while a female relative sustained injuries on Friday.

The deceased were identified as 60-year-old Abid Ali, son of Ali Zaman, his 50-year-old wife Maryam and their 20-year-old son, Zohaib.

The injured woman, 35-year-old Fatima, wife of Qadeer, is reported to be Abid’s sister-in-law and was visiting the family at the time of the attack.

According to police, the attack appeared to have been triggered by a personal dispute. The day before the incident, Abid suspected that his teenage daughter, Alina, who had been missing for a day, was taken by his brother-in-law Danish. Danish and another brother-in-law Qadeer along with their wives had visited Abid’s home for discussions the previous night and left later in the night, while Qadeer’s wife stayed behind.

Around 6:30am, Danish returned on a motorcycle and opened fire inside the house, killing Abid, his wife and son, and injuring Fatima before fleeing the scene.

Neighbours, hearing the gunshots, entered the house by climbing over a wall and discovered the victims lying in blood. They transported the deceased and the injured to the Civil Hospital, Karachi, using Edhi ambulances.

Inspector Pervez Solangi confirmed that Abid, originally from Mansehra, was a Mazda truck driver and had been living in Bismillah Town with his family for the past five to six months.

The police crime scene unit has been deployed to collect evidence, and investigations are under way to apprehend the suspect and determine the full circumstances.
