KARACHI: K-Electric (KE) has appointed Adeeb Ahmad as interim chief executive officer (CEO) with immediate effect, the company announced on Friday.
According to a statement, the board of directors, in its meeting held on Friday, approved Ahmad’s appointment as interim CEO in place of Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi.
Ahmad is former CEO of Hascol Petroleum Limited. His career spans 34 years, including C-suite roles, and he has been involved in managing private equity funds, mergers and acquisitions, and transformation initiatives focused on the energy and infrastructure sectors across the MENA region, Turkey, the CIS, Southeast Asia and Pakistan.
He has also worked with investment banking institutions in the GCC and Pakistan, leading several mergers and acquisitions, privatisation and capital-raising assignments.
Ahmad has also held the positions of senior adviser to the CEO and deputy CEO-Designate at the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) in Saudi Arabia. He holds an MSc from the London School of Economics (LSE), UK, and an MBA from IBA Karachi.
Moonis Alvi resigned as CEO of KE a few days ago after serving the company for 18 years.
