DSB meeting today for officers promotion

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of Departmental Selection Board for promotions from Grade-18 to Grade-19 in Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) and Office Management Group (OMG) will be held today (Friday)

The meeting will be chaired by Secretary Establishment Division, Barrister Nabeel Ahmed Awan, in his capacity as Chairman.

Chief secretaries of all the four provinces will attend the meeting. Inspectors General (IGs) of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan will also be a part of the meeting. The Additional Secretary of Ministry of Law and Justice and Additional Secretary-I of Establishment Division will also participate as members.

After approval of cases under consideration, formal notifications for promotion of federal officers will be issued. The meeting will review promotion cases of officers from Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan, Office Management Group and Ex-Cadre officers.

According to sources, there are 258 vacant Grade-19 posts in Pakistan Administrative Service, while 115 officers are available in the panel. In Police Service, there are 109 vacant Grade 19 posts, with 68 officers available in the panel. In the Office Management Group, there are 179 vacant posts, while 149 officers are available in the panel. Overall, there are 546 vacant posts across three services, while 332 officers are included in the panel.
