PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will provide financial relief of Rs12,500 each to over one million poor families under the Ramazan Support Package.

The approval was granted at the 47th meeting of the provincial cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi.

Addressing the cabinet, the chief minister said that concealing facts related to the health of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and allegedly denying him access to his doctors and family constituted a grave violation of the Constitution and fundamental human rights.

He stated that if the situation had reached a point where Imran Khan had to undergo an eye operation, it clearly indicated that he was being subjected to inhumane treatment in jail.

The chief minister demanded that Imran Khan be allowed to meet his family and doctors so that the prevailing ambiguity about his health could be removed.
