PESHAWAR: Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan provided welfare services worth Rs26.41 billion across the country in 2025, benefiting more than 24.6 million people, while reaffirming its commitment to continue serving humanity with the same zeal and dedication.

Provincial president of the foundation, Khalid Waqas, told a news conference here that the organisation’s humanitarian initiatives during the year covered disaster relief, education, healthcare, orphan sponsorship, provision of clean drinking water, microfinance, the Bano Qabil free IT skills programme and various social welfare projects.

Khalid Waqas said that under the Palestine (Gaza) Relief Operation, a total of 6,014 tonnes of relief goods worth Rs9.09 billion were delivered to Gaza. He added that reconstruction work in Gaza was also under way, for which Rs15 billion had been allocated.

Alkhidmat KP Media Manager Noorul Wahid Jadun and Social Media Manager Ahmad Abdullah, along with other officials, were also present on the occasion.

Waqas said thousands of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were affected by floods and heavy rains during 2025. Following rescue and emergency relief operations, rehabilitation efforts were now continuing.

Referring to the prevailing situation in Tirah, Khyber District, he said Alkhidmat Foundation has been providing assistance to the displaced families of the area from day one, including ration packs, cooked meals, tents, tarpaulins, clean drinking water, warm bedding and clothing. Medical camps had also been set up at various locations to provide free treatment and medicines to the affected population.

He further said that under the Bano Qabil programme, 50 centres had been established across the province offering 28 free IT and online skills courses to youth. In 2025 alone, more than 10,000 students graduated from the programme and secured local as well as online employment. After the successful completion of Phase I, Phase II of the programme had also been launched. He assured special courses would be arranged for the journalist community in the provincial metropolis in collaboration with Peshawar Press Club.

Regarding upcoming activities, Waqas said that the extensive welfare initiatives had been planned for Ramazan 2026, including distribution of food packages, Iftar dastarkhwan, roadside Iftar arrangements, subsidised tandoors, distribution of Fitrana and Eid gifts to support deserving families during the holy month. He added that at Alkhidmat Aghosh Homes, particularly the Aghosh Home Peshawar, special Iftar gatherings were arranged with orphaned children, where prominent.
