In a major operation to safeguard public health, the Sindh Food Authority (SFA) on Monday carried out a crackdown against chemically adulterated milk in Malir district.
During the operation in Shah Latif Town, officials seized a vehicle loaded with chemically prepared milk and arrested two individuals, including the driver. Legal proceedings had been initiated against the accused.
Officials said that approximately 1,000 litres of unhygienic and adulterated milk were destroyed on the spot. Provincial Minister for Food Makhdoom Mehboobul Zaman stated that the seized milk posed a serious threat to human health, adding that such practices amount to playing with the lives of innocent citizens and would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The provincial minister emphasised that action against the adulteration mafia would continue on a daily basis under a zero-tolerance policy, and strict legal measures would be taken against all those involved in the production and sale of unsafe food items.
He reaffirmed that ensuring the availability of safe and quality food for citizens remains a top priority of the Government of Sindh and the SFA. Zaman also urged the public to immediately report any suspicious or substandard food items so that timely action could be taken to protect public health.
