CCTV footage of a four-year-old child falling into an open manhole in Faqeera Goth has surfaced, shedding light on the tragic incident that occurred two days ago.
According to investigators, the footage shows the child, identified as Ahsan, walking towards his home along a road near the Super Highway when he accidentally fell into an uncovered manhole.
The video reveals that four manholes were left open in a row, with stones placed around them. The child managed to cross the first manhole while looking around but fell into the second one. Investigators said several people were passing by at the time of the incident. A motorcyclist carrying family members briefly stopped, looked into the manhole, and then left without attempting to seek help or rescue the child.
The child had gone missing on Sunday evening, prompting a frantic search by his family. His body was recovered from the manhole the following day. Police believe the child fell into the open manhole while walking along the road.
Late on Tuesday night, a body was found hanging from a house on Street No. 5, Liaquatabad FC Area. Upon receiving information about the body, police and rescue personnel reached the spot and took the deceased to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where the man was identified as 20-year-old Misbah, son of Mehndi. According to Sharifabad SHO Hidayat Hussain, initial reports indicated that the incident was a suicide.
