MARDAN: A young man, who was the only son of his parents, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the limits of Sheikh Maltoon Police Station two days ago, police sources said on Saturday.
The sources said that unidentified persons opened fire on the young man identified as Afaq on Ring Road on Wednesday, killing him on the spot. His blood-soaked body was recovered on Thursday, bearing at least eighteen bullet wounds. The body remained lying unattended on the roadside throughout the night.
Later, Rescue 1122 officials reached the scene and shifted the body to hospital.
