At least three people, including a woman and a minor girl, were killed, while three others were injured in three accidents in different parts of Karachi on Wednesday, according to rescue and police officials.
Rescue officials said a speeding 10-wheeler trailer ran over a motorcycle-riding couple in Gulshan-e-Hadeed. The woman died on the spot, while her husband sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital. Police said the trailer driver fled the scene along with the vehicle, and a search was under way. The victims were residents of Thatta.
In another incident in Surjani Town, a minor girl was killed and two other children were injured after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. Police said the accident occurred on a deserted road where youths performing one-wheeling on a motorcycle struck the children while they were playing outside their homes. The suspects managed to escape, and efforts were under way to trace them.
In a third incident, a man was killed after being struck by an unidentified vehicle near Sector 19-B of Shah Latif Town in Landhi. His body was shifted to a hospital for legal formalities. Police said investigations into all three incidents were ongoing, and efforts were being made to trace the vehicles and drivers involved.
