Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar said in a statement on Wednesday that no one will be allowed to block the highway and the PTI will not be allowed to block roads.

Lanjar said that if shops are closed by force, the law will come into play. Moreover, the Jamaat-e-Islami violated the law by closing Sharea Faisal, he said and added that terrorism provisions should have been included in the case of closing Sharea Faisal.

If terrorism provisions are included, no one will have the courage to block the road in the future, Lanjar said and added that Hafiz Naeem has been sent a message not to block the road of the Sindh Assembly. “If you want to protest, do it not on the main road, but on the service road. If you want to protest, do it outside the Press Club. If you close the road, the law will come into play.”

He said the government was showing tolerance in Sindh, and Section 144 is in force in the city, and if the law is violated, legal action will be taken. If anyone tries to go on strike, the law will come into play, as no one has the authority to block the National Highway.

Lanjar said the Jamaat-e-Islami blocked Sharea Faisal and affected traffic, though no permission was taken to block Sharea Faisal. He said that in future no permission will be given to close the city.
