LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved regulated manufacturing of permissible kite flying material in four districts and issued detailed instructions governing its registration, sale, transportation and enforcement under the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Act, 2025, according to notifications issued by the Home Department.

The provincial cabinet, through circulation, had accorded approval under Section 6(1) of the Act for the manufacturing of permissible kite flying material in Faisalabad, Kasur, Multan and Sheikhupura. The approval applies exclusively to manufacturers as defined under the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Rules, 2025, and is subject to mandatory online registration with the concerned deputy commissioners through the Punjab government’s e-Biz digital portal.

The notification specified that only registered manufacturers operating within the four approved districts would be permitted to manufacture permissible kite flying material and that production would be strictly limited to items allowed under the law. It further stated that the material manufactured in these districts could be sold only to registered traders or registered sellers registered with the deputy commissioner, Lahore. Such material may be used exclusively within the Lahore district on Feb 6, 7 and 8, 2026, and not in any other district.
