CHITRAL: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Attaullah Tarar administered oath to the newly elected office-bearers of the Chitral Press Club on Tuesday.
The ceremony was hosted at the Parliament Committee Room in the federal capital. It was attended by President of the Federal Union of Journalists Pakistan Afzal Butt and others.Those who took oath included President of the Chitral Press Club Zaheeruddin, Senior Vice President Saifur Rehman Aziz, Vice President Mian Asif Ali Shah, General Secretary Abdul Ghaffar, Finance Secretary Noora Fazal, and Office Secretary Syed Nazir Hussain Shah.
The minister in his address said that the time had come to project Pakistan’s soft image to the world.“The unparalleled natural beauty of paradise-like regions such as Chitral, along with their unique culture and traditions, traditional cuisine, and way of life, holds great significance for the world,” he added.
He said the real task at present is investing in youth, which is why Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif had a special focus on education.The minister that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government has paid special attention to Chitral in previous tenures as well.
“The completion of the Lowari Tunnel Project is a prime example, which not only opened new avenues of development for the region but also boosted tourism,” he pointed.He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a beloved province of the country, and Chitral is its beautiful part. “The minister said the federal government is committed to its development,” he added.
“Recently, Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone for a Danish School in Chitral and announced other development projects as well,” he said while explaining his point. Tarar recalled that during his tenure, Mian Nawaz Sharif had visited Chitral several times, and a process of reconstruction was initiated after the devastating floods in the region’s history.
