Lecture delivered to CCD officers

Rawalpindi: District Public Prosecutor Rawalpindi Mian Imran Rahim has said that strong investigation and quality evidence are indispensable for effective prevention of crimes and bringing the accused to justice, for which close coordination and coordination between the investigating officers and the prosecution is necessary.

He expressed these views in a special lecture delivered to the officers of the Crime Control Department Punjab (CCD) yesterday. Deputy District Public Prosecutor Rehman Shaukat Bhatti was also present on the occasion.

The lecture was organised by the Punjab Criminal Prosecution Department with the aim of increasing the capacity of the CCD, ensuring effective investigation and timely delivery of justice.

In addition to highlighting the important aspects of effective collection of evidence in serious crime cases and preparation of strong and legally reliable challans, the CCD officers were also trained on modern investigation requirements, legal standards of evidence, visual and documentary evidence, importance of digital and forensic evidence, timely involvement of witnesses and preparation of challans as per the requirements of the prosecution. Practical procedures were explained.

On this occasion, emphasis was placed on preventing investigative flaws in serious crimes, especially murder, kidnapping, organized crime and other sensitive cases, and presenting the case in court in an effective manner.

Deputy District Public Prosecutor Rehman Shaukat Bhatti informed about the legal structure of the challan, chain of custody and the importance of completing the case file as per the court requirements.
