ISLAMABAD: The federal government has made decisions regarding important appointments and transfers.
According to sources in the Establishment Division, the government has decided to appoint Rao Abdul Karim as the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police, while it has proposed to post IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar as the director general (DG) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Separate formal notifications regarding the appointment and transfer of the officers will be issued by the Establishment Division after the circulation summary is approved by the federal cabinet via circulation.
It may be noted that Rao Abdul Karim is currently posted as additional IG of the Special Branch Punjab. Previously, he served as AIG Patrol Police, and has also held the positions of RPO Gujranwala, DIG Training and DIG Traffic Punjab.
