RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society Chief Organiser and Media Coordinator Aziz Ahmed Awan has said that Pakistan played a crucial and effective role in de-escalating recent tensions between Iran and the United States.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, he said that in recognition of his “extraordinary services to global peace”, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
Awan credited Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and strategic leadership for preventing what could have escalated into a major confrontation, potentially endangering not only the region but global stability. He noted that the approach adopted under Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership set a new direction for promoting peace at the international level.
He further stressed that Asim Munir’s vision, prudence and effective diplomacy demonstrated that conflicts could be resolved through dialogue and wisdom rather than force.
