The Sindh government on Friday launched “Sindh Teachers Helpline” to strengthen the professional support and accountability. Officials said that on the directives of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the School Education & Literacy Department has taken a significant step by establishing the “Sindh Teachers’ Helpline” to provide guidance to teachers and address their issues.

The helpline is dedicated to teachers from both public and private schools across Sindh. The minister stated that a formal and effective platform has been provided for public and private school teachers to register complaints, share suggestions, and seek professional guidance, which will help ensure the timely resolution of teachers’ issues.

The Teachers’ Helpline has been established in accordance with the decisions taken during the 18th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Sindh Teacher Education Development Authority (STEDA).

In the initial phase, the helpline will remain operational every Wednesday from noon to 2pm. The Teachers’ complaints and issues will be received directly by a redressal committee comprising Member of the Provincial Assembly Tanzila Umm-e-Habiba and Additional Director of the Directorate of Inspection & Registration of Private Institutions (DGIRPI), Rafia Javed Mallah. Moreover, the Teachers may contact the helpline by dialling 0315-1464945.

The education minister said this initiative is a practical step towards incorporating teachers’ voices into policymaking, which will directly benefit teachers in terms of professional development and effective resolution of their issues.

He further emphasized that a transparent and accountable system is essential for accurate identification of issues and their sustainable solutions. Suggestions received through the helpline will be presented before the STEDA Board so that teachers’ direct representation can be made part of education policy.
