ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Abu Dhabi on Monday for a four-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi are accompanying the president during the visit.
President Zardari and the First Lady were received at the Presidential Flight Terminal of Zayed International Airport by the UAE Minister of Justice, Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Shafqat Ali Khan, was also present.
During his visit from January 26 to 29, President Zardari is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with the UAE leadership to review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations. Discussions will particularly focus on trade and economic cooperation, defence and security collaboration, and the promotion of people-to-people ties.
Regional and international issues of mutual interest will also form part of the talks. The visit follows the recent trip of the UAE president to Pakistan and reflects the deep-rooted, brotherly relations between the two countries. It also reaffirms the shared commitment to transforming longstanding friendship into a broad-based and mutually beneficial partnership.
