ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly (NA) Secretariat has taken notice of complaint of former Member National Assembly (MNA) Muhammad Saalim Khan Khalil, who hails from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, pertaining to the “non-cooperative” attitude of the provincial chief secretary towards the former lawmakers.
The former member of the lower house of the parliament has also served as member of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs. The NA Secretariat has taken up the matter with the principal secretary to the KP chief minister and reminded him of federal government’s SRO, which mandates that former MNAs are legally entitled to access to interview any government functionary of the federal and provincial governments.
The NA Secretariat directed the principal secretary to intervene in the matter and ensure the former MNA is facilitated under the relevant SRO in letter and spirit.In another communication of the NA Secretariat, the Islamabad Club administration has been asked to refrain from charging extra monthly dues from the said former MNA.
