LAHORE:The Punjab government has imposed a ban on 132 Punjabi songs used in theatre and stage performances, citing that the content is immoral, obscene and based on pun.According to an official notification issued by the Information and Culture Department, the ban will apply to all types of stage and theatre performances, whether private or commercial. The notification states that the lyrics, poetry and music of the banned songs are provocative in nature and violate the SOPs set for theatre performances.
