SUKKUR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Javed Alam Odho visited Shikarpur on Sunday to offer condolences to the family of martyred Station House Officer (SHO) Khamiso Khan Brohi.

The IGP, accompanied by DIG Larkana Nasir Aftab Pathan, SSP Shikarpur Shahzeb Chachar, SSP Jacobabad Muhammad Kaleem Malik, along with DSPs and other police officers, visited the residence of the fallen officer and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

Announcing a comprehensive support package, IGP Odho said the Sindh Police would ensure free education for the children of the martyred SHO.

He also announced Rs20 million for the purchase of a house, Rs10 million under the police compensation policy, two government jobs for the officer’s children, and the promotion of his son to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI).

Speaking to the media, the IGP paid tribute to SHO Brohi, stating that he sacrificed his life in the line of duty while protecting the lives and property of citizens.

He assured the family that the police department would care for the children of the martyred officer as its own.

He further stated that Shikarpur Police had already killed three of the suspects involved in the SHO’s martyrdom, while operations were underway to apprehend or neutralize the remaining culprits.

Commenting on the law and order situation, the IGP said the recent rise in crime incidents in northern Sindh was a reaction by criminal elements to the ongoing police operations. He warned that under the Sindh government’s surrender policy, those who refuse to surrender would face strict action.

The IGP noted that police now have access to modern technology and improved resources to eliminate crime in the katcha areas. He added that the government was also working to end tribal conflicts, and the police were devising strategies to address related issues.

“Criminal elements and parties involved in tribal disputes must be treated separately,” he said, adding that criminals would not be allowed to disrupt law and order.

He revealed that 110 criminals had been killed in Shikarpur during recent operations, many others arrested, and continued action was being taken against remaining offenders.
